Volvo's Handsfree kit with Bluetooth is a flexible and easy way of speaking into your mobile phone when seated in the car. The device can be easily controlled via knobs and buttons, the phone book can be shown in the display. Using the product, you can transfer music from your mobile phone, iPhone, iPod and USB memory to the car's audio system. Handsfree system is a legal requirement in many markets.
Product information for Handsfree, Bluetooth system
The Handsfree Bluetooth system has excellent sound quality with with interference reduction, which gives an excellent conversation experience. In the event of incoming and outgoing calls, the sound is automatically muted on the car's audio system, does NOT apply to portable navigation.
Before using the system, you must add the mobile phone to the system. After this, the mobile phone always activates handsfree when the car is started. If you leave the car before the call is over, it is transferred automatically, with a certain delay, to your mobile phone.
Up to two mobile telephones can be connected at the same time. This is useful if, for example, one phone is for business use and the other for private use. If a call is underway on one phone and the other phone rings, the call can be put on hold.
With the "forgotten device" function, the system automatically searches for the last connected mobile telephone when the car is switched on. If it is not found, the handsfree system will indicate that you may have forgotten your mobile phone.
The device is easily controlled via buttons and display. The display clearly shows the phone book for example. The function "Spoken text message support", reads out the text message. The following languages are available in the display and are spoken: US English, UK English, French, Canadian French, Greek, Dutch, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, EU Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Hispanic-American), Spanish (Castilian), Swedish, German, Turkish, Russian and Czech (text only).
The Volvo hands-free system with Bluetooth supports most cellular phones with Bluetooth handsfree profile. Your phone must be equipped with this function. Contact your cellular phone supplier if you are unsure.
Product information for Music Interface
Using the Music Interface, you can connect your mobile phone, iPhone, iPod and USB memory to the car's audio system to listen to your favourite music, without having to take lots of CDs with you.
"Streaming music" is a function that enables you to use the mobile telephone as a music player via wireless streaming from the mobile telephone via the Bluetooth device to the car's audio system.
"Your telephone must have the profile, advanced audio distribution profile (A2DP). Contact your mobile telephone supplier if you are unsure.
Using a discretely mounted cable in the tunnel console compartment, you can easily connect your iPhone, iPod and USB memory. These are then controlled via the Bluetooth device's buttons, knob and display.
A message appears on the display stating that the iPod is still connected to the Bluetooth device, so that a connected iPod is not accidentally left in the car when the car's ignition is turned off.
