“SATISFIED CUSTOMER - S90 CATALYSER (WALES). The S90 catalyser was fitted just before I went off on holiday. Since fitting, the car has been A1. No CEL warning and the car runs far quieter than with the generic cat. I’m afraid that there simply isn’t a cheap option when it comes to the fitment of a replacement catalyser. On a big six cylinder it HAS to be the genuine article otherwise it’s a case of seriously compromising the car’s quality and performance. Seems to me that the companies who actually make after-market cats for the bigger engined Volvos are wasting everyone’s time because as far as I can see - they just don’t work. With an engine running in limp mode - it actually generates more pollution. This sort-of defeats the object of having a cat in the first place?”
